A native of Atlanta, I now live with my husband and youngest daughter in Carrollton, Ga about 65 miles west of Atlanta. My oldest daughter, her husband and two children live close by as does my son and grandson.
I read tarot cards and do astrology charts from my home and also do readings in a wonderful little shop in Carrollton called Crystal Pathways.
I think, according to family stories, that I was psychic from a very young age. My parents didn't really encourage me but they certainly didn't discourage me in that direction. I knew that my mom's family had some talents toward the psychic/intuitive but was not aware of just how deeply until about 6 years ago when an aunt of mine began to tell me the family stories about my great Aunts Bessie and Janie. Both were well known in their small rural community but I guess neither pursued their abilities much beyond helping family and close friends. Shortly after hearing this information about the Aunts I was relaxing and took a short trip down memory lane. I remembered how schoolmates would run up to me and say "Guess what". The looks on their faces when I told them exactly what they were going to say helped me to understand why my great aunts didn't broadcast their talents. After a few episodes at school I didn't either.
I was always drawn to cards, even as a small child. My Daddy, after much begging on my part, taught me to play poker using matchsticks in stead of money. I enjoyed it so much because I got information from the cards. The cards told me that I was finally going to get my own kitten. They didn't tell me that all my Dad was going to get was a tongue lashing from my mother for letting me play with the cards.
I took the small things I did as natural but really did not realize what I was until I had children. Anyone who has had a baby understands that statement. Fortunately, I had an understanding pediatrician. When I showed up with what appeared to be a perfectly healthy infant or toddler claiming they were about to have bronchitis or strep or ear infection he finally learned to write the prescriptions and then made me promise not to give them to the child until I knew they were sick. It worked really well and I suspect saved my children and myself many sleepless nights.
A friend gave me my first set of genuine tarot cards about 1987. I found out very quickly that the information I got from them was very accurate. I started reading for the public at a very unusual gift shop in downtown Carrollton about 2 years later. Shortly after that I had my natal astrology chart done by an excellent astrologer. I was a skeptic but after he told me things that nobody could know about me, I became a believer. Although I don't consider myself a great astrologer, knowing the meanings of the stars have helped me and many others understand their lives and the people in those lives.
Shortly after I began reading for the public, a lady came to see me for a reading. She was average looking, very nice and seemed impressed with her reading. As she walked out the door she turned back to me and said, "You do realize that psychic ability is like a virus. The more psychic people you are around the more abilities you catch." I smiled and thanked her for her wisdom. I've never seen her again, however, I have gradually and sometimes not so gradually, discovered that I have empathic abilities, am a medical intuitive, occasionally pick up on past lives and have developed some mediumistic talents. I occasionally wonder what's next.
