Determination and the ability to motivate oneself have always impressed me. I think I’m so impressed because, quite simply, there have been many times in my life that I lacked both of these powerful attributes. A few months ago I met a woman that was handed a situation that would have brought most people to their knees and probably stayed there for a while, but Carol Batey did neither. She reinvented her whole life. (As a rule I hate to use these modern day phrases but this time it is so appropriate I can’t help myself.)

Carol ended a 20 year marriage, dealt with major problems with one of her children and relocated to a totally new area to begin a new life. She has accomplished many, not all, but most of her goals and is moving forward every day of her life.

Carol has documented her journey in a new book, “In Due Season: Destiny is Calling Your Soul”. Spiritual strength can come from many sources and I believe that Carol is a source of that strength.

I have never encountered a more amazing and unique art form than Fractal Art. My understanding is that, using a specially designed program, the artist enters a mathematical equation to form an image. A small portion of the image can be isolated and enlarged. The artist can then use their own creative talents to add color, shading, texture even change the perspective to create these wonderful pieces.

Ashley Brandt is a Fractal Artist. All I can say is that she makes magic happen. These wonderful images have the power to draw you in and every time you look at them you see something new and different. The pieces I have seen, without exception, seem to induce a meditative state.
